Great Wall Walk

Mike Everitt will be traveling to China next year on May 5th 2007 to complete a trek along a 55km stretch of the Great Wall in five days. While the distance is relatively short for the time allowed, the Great Wall is not necessarily the easiest place to walk.. At the highest point, some 4500m above sea level, he will be at Heavens Gate with Mongolia below on one side and China below on the other.

Mike is doing this for Acorns Children's Hospice charity based in the UK. He hopes to raise £2,500 by February 2007. This sponsorship will go to the Hospice because Mike is paying for the flights and other expenses out of his own pocket.

Mike has agreed to provide us with photos of the Great Wall, probably the largest set of fortifications ever constructed, and he will keep us updated on his preparations and progress.
