There are a large number of museums and collections around the world dedicated to the people who have fought in the wars of history, or to the equipment they have used. Some of the collections are established in purpose built buildings, some in what ever is available, and some in the historical buildings their collections were used in, and some in the larger weapons of war.

The Imperial War Museum in London typifies the large purpose built building housing items representing the history of British military power through the centuries.

The Alamo in Texas has a collection of military artefacts relating to the famous defence of the Alamo, with exhibits housed inside the historical building.

The USS Lexington moored at Corpus Christi houses a collection of Second World War and modern artefacts, mainly from US Naval Aviaton.

Below are links to nearly a hundred the different military museums grouped by continent.
