VICKERS VIMY

The Vickers Vimy was designed to be used as a bomber in WWI but became most famous for the first ever trans-Atlantic flight flown by John Alcock and Arthur Brown in 1919 and this outstanding pencil drawing has been specially commissioned by us to pay tribute to this amazing achievement.

Since his launch as an Aviation and Military Artist in 2006 Richard has developed his skill with the pencil to such an extent that we believe we can safely claim that he is, alongside his illustrious father Robert, the best pencil artist working in the industry today.He has perfected a technique which combines pencil, highlighted with white acrylic paint to create an amazing work of art that looks three dimensional and this is fast becoming his trademark.

Completed in Richards pencil/paint technique this excellent drawing has been conservation matted to include the very rare original signatures of John Alcock and Arthur Brown on two separate documents – a ‘must have’ and very rare piece for the serious collector of historic aviation.
