This book tells the story of the Berlin Wall, the strange barrier that grew up quickly in August 1961. Built to keep the two parts of Berlin separate, the Wall was a symbol of the Cold War. The collapse of the Wall, lead to the collapse of the East German Government, and the re-unification of Germany, split at the end of the Second World War.
18 years later, on the anniversary of the collapse, this book is well worth reading.
