The Premier Model Show at the Guildhall in Plymouth on Saturday 28
th April saw the latest outing for our Falklands Conflict display.
The show was set up as part of Falklands25 and the organisers had arranged a special Falklands exhibit for the entrance to the main hall. The SA SIG display was split between this and our own table within the hall. The main display included models of British and Argentine combatants.

There were several new additions to the display including:
- HMS Plymouth, a much-modified 1:600 Airfix Leander
- HMS Ardent’s Lynx, a modified 1:72 Airfix kit
- 809 Sqn FAA Sea Harrier, a 1:72 Hasegawa kit
- Chinook ‘Bravo November’, a 1:144 Revell kit
- LWB Landrover and a Bedford 4 tonner, 1:76 JB Models kits.
Another new addition to our display was a 1:600 scratchbuilt RFA Sir Galahad. We also had a 1:1200 diorama of the Argentinian carrier Vienticinco de Maio and her two escorting destroyers. As there are still quite a few models in-build, we should have a comprehensive display for Telford in November.
Again several Falklands veterans came to the SASIG table and talked about their experiences. It was fascinating to talk to them all and they were very appreciative of our efforts to commemorate the conflict.
This was another very successful show for SASIG.
Our next show will be at the Waddington International Air Show on June 30th/July 1st.
