The Falklands War of 1982 is one of histories anomalies. The Falkland Islands are a small sparsely inhabited group of Islands in the South Atlantic. A British possession claimed by Argentina, they were invaded by the Argentinians on the 2nd April 1982. British forces were mobilised, dispatched on an almost Colonial War style task force, and despite being out numbered and fighting on the far side the world, able to defeat and reclaim the Islands by 14th June 1982.
