News from the Fleet Air Arm Museum, MarchThe Fleet Air Arm Museums Newsletter for March is available, reporting on recent activities at the Museum.February 10th saw the Model Show which was attended by about 2000 people. The South Atlantic SIG were there, so for more info check Janet's Article (in Projects) about their trip. February 15th saw Princess Anne, the Princess Royal, visit the Museum as part of a trip involving the local Air Ambulance service. In April the Museum will open it's Falklands exhibition, to mark the 25th Anniversary of the conflict. The backbone of the exhibition will be four aircraft, a Sea Harrier, and three helicopters. The Wessex helicopter is from HMS Antrim and was involved in rescuing SAS troops and depth charging the Argentinian submarine Santa Fe. The Wasp on display hit the Santa Fe with three missiles, which helped to cripple the submarine. There will also be a Lynx helicopter. Finally, the Newsletter also gives dates for several events, including the Yeovilton Air Day on 7th July. |
