News from the USS ConstellationThe USS Constellation was the last 'all sail' warship built for the United States Navy and sailed to join the Mediterranean Squadron in August 1855. The ship is now a Museum Ship in Baltimore's Harbour. The last Newsletter has come through and gives details of restoration work currently being undertaken, and also activities on board. The ship itself is undergoing some repair work and work has started on replicas of the two small boats originally on board. There is a nice article about the journal of a crewman who served on the ship in the late 1850s early 1860s. This includes the action against a slave barque, the Cora. This is the subject of a History Channel documentary to be aired on 10th February at 8pm. I assume this is the US History version and I'm not sure about other countries.
